  • 15 May 2014:   This historic home on Lilly Road in Lilly Illinois was destroyed by fire on May 12, 2014.  The home was built in the 1830's and had survived at least 2 other fires.  The home is said to have been an overnight stop for lawyers and judges, including Abraham Lincoln when traveling the circuit and serving their clients.

This single span Multiple King Post Truss structure has a length of 43 feet, or 61 feet including the 9-foot overhang at each end, is 16 feet wide and 14 feet high. Built in 1909 by Joseph A. Britton, though no historical marker is present, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.<br />
