  • 28 April 2007: The keepers at Miller Park Zoo in Bloomington Illinois were recently surprised when the female eagle (named Beauty, pictured) they have on display suddenly nested and produced 2 eggs.  The male (named Mathata) that is in the same display is considered to be only one of the possible suitors.  The other possible suitor is a wild eagle that has suddenly appeared at the zoo.  The 2 captive birds are both unable to fly due to injuries and have been on display at the zoo for 13 years.  These are the first eggs produced during that time.
