08 October 2013: Mushrooms, toadstools and other assorted fungus and plant life thrive in Yellowwood State Forest.
Yellowwood State Forest was created on leased federal land in 1940. It was later (1956) deeded to the state of Indiana. More than 2000 vacant and eroded acres were planted with pine, black locust, black walnut, and red and white oak. Yellowwood Lake is 133 acres and about 30 feet deep. This image was produced in part utilizing High Dynamic Range (HDR) processes. It should not be used editorially without being listed as an illustration or with a disclaimer.
