09 OCT 2005 Redbird Kari Staehlin hammers one over the net only to have it rejected by Brave Briony Hammet. The Illinois State University Redbirds hosted arch rival Bradley University Braves. The Redbirds soared over the Braves, taking the match in 4 games, losing only game number 2. Action included play by Braves Star Lindsey Stalzer who is ranked no. 7 in the nation in kills per game. The first defeat of the conference season for the Braves took place at Redbird Arena on Illinois State's campus in Normal IL.
