11 February 2009: 2009 CHEVROLET CORVETTE: Hogging the spotlight this year is the Corvette ZR1 supercar, pictured elsewhere. Changes and enhancements to the '09 Corvette reflect continual improvements that speak to Chevrolet's unflagging commitment to the sports car. A new lower priced 1LT convertible joins the list of available models. Standard in the Coupe and Convertible is the 6.2L LS3 small-block V-8 rated at 430 horsepower and 424 pound-feet of torque. With the optional two-mode exhaust system, power ratings increase to 436 horses and 428 pound-feet. Standard is a six-speed manual, with six-speed paddle shift automatic optional. Back again for 2009 is the 505-horsepower Corvette Z06 Coupe, which now is a bit overshadowed by the ZR1.. The Chicago Auto Show is a charity event of the Chicago Automobile Trade Association (CATA) and is held annually at McCormick Place in Chicago Illinois.
