12 February 2015: 2016 FORD GT: Supercar enthusiasts will be crowding around the 2016 Ford GT at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show. From its tear-drop shape to its aircraft-inspired fuselage and visibility-enhancing curved windshield, every slope and shape is designed to minimize drag and optimize downforce and stability. The GT is equipped with a 600-plus-horsepower twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V-6 engine that offers remarkable efficiency given its power output. Mated to the V-6 is a seven-speed dual-clutch transaxle that provides for near-instantaneous gear changes and exceptional driver control. The narrow-profile canopy reduces frontal area and caps a purposeful interior that provides state-of-the-art technology to ensure control, comfort and safety. Note that the active rear spoiler is keyed to speed and driver input, deploying and adjusting its height and/or pitch angle depending on conditions. Lightweight carbon fiber construction is used for body components, the two-seat passenger cell and brake discs. Driver and passenger access is provided by upward-swinging doors. An F1-style steering wheel integrates all necessary driver controls, creating a stalkless steering column that allows uncluttered access to the transmission paddle-shift controls. A digital instrument cluster provides a wealth of driver-focused data. The display is configurable for multiple driving environments and different driving modes. Beginning production in 2016, Ford GT arrives in select global markets to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Ford GT race cars placing 1-2-3 at the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans.

First staged in 1901, the Chicago Auto Show is the largest auto show in North America and has been held more times than any other auto exposition on the continent. The 2015 show marks the 107th edition of the Chicago Auto Show. It has been presented by the Chicago Automobile Trade Association (CATA) since 1935. It is held at McCormick Place, Chicago Illinois
