08 February 2013: Toyota Corolla Furia concept car. Chicago Auto Show, Chicago Automobile Trade Association (CATA), McCormick Place, Chicago Illinois..TOYOTA COROLLA FURIA CONCEPT: If you want a glimpse at what's hot and exciting in the next-generation of compact sedans, gaze at the Toyota Corolla Furia concept during the 2013 Chicago Auto Show. The Furia is fashioned around what Toyota designers call, "Iconic Dynamism," which presents a provocative and dynamic exterior form. With its longer wheelbase (181.9 inches) the Corolla Furia Concept becomes a more stable and athletic vehicle, rolling on custom 19-inch allow wheels pushed to all four corners. As the show car slowly revolves, note the sinister-looking front fascia and blacked-out grille treatment that emphases a pair of sculpted front LED headlamps. In profile, this sexy sedan is topped by a sloped roofline and swept windshield. Pronounced fender flares heighten the carbon fiber pieces accenting the wheel wells, rocker panels and rear valance. Just as aggressive looking as the front, the rear section includes an attention-getting spoiler, composite LED taillight assemblies and ornate metal exhaust outlet surrounds that indicate a performance-tuned four-cylinder under the hood. Expect much of the concept's design language to influence the future Corolla production models, which by that time, 100% of Corolla's sold in the U.S. will be built in North America.
