Both the Indiana State Sycamores and the Illinois State Redbirds came to this game tied for 1st place and defeated in the Missouri Valley Conference. The Redbirds in their 11th consecutive game 77-70 on Doug Collins Court inside Redbird Arena in Normal Illinois
